The Karachi Cartographies Pop-Up Library in Karachi brings together 50 fascinating publications about Karachi from the Furqaan Ahmed Collection, available for browsing in an intimate reading-room setting at Darham/Marham. The library accompanies the broader Karachi Cartographies exhibition — a project that engages with the city through contemporary art and archival material including documents, maps, advertisements, photographs, and books. The exhibition spans two gallery spaces (Canvas and Koel) and is accompanied by a 200-page book with essays by Marvi Mazhar and Zarmeene Shah, designed by Kiran Ahmad. Additional programming includes a commissioned children's book by Sophia Balagamwala and a screening of new media works at the IVSAA gallery.
