Music as Memory is a workshop hosted at the Basement Studio of Arts Council Karachi, presented by the World Culture Festival – Karachi 2026 as part of its month-long celebration of global cultures. Kenyan duo Makadem and Adela bring their expertise in folk music and contemporary Nyatiti Music to this intimate session, inviting audiences to engage with music not merely as sound, but as a living connection between people, places, histories, and identities. Nyatiti is a traditional Luo string instrument from Kenya, and the duo's work weaves its ancient resonances with contemporary musical expression. The World Culture Festival Karachi runs from 29 October to 22 November 2026. Entry: Free for all university students. Registration is mandatory. Registration: Contact or register through the Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi.
